ANDS publishes conference paper on ODIN

Our partners down under, at the Australian National Data Services (ANDS, see Partners page) have just published a conference paper on the ODIN project.

Identity Awareness: Toward an Invisible e-Infrastructure for Identifying Data and Authors. Amir Aryani, Adrian Burton. figshare. http://dx.doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.155650

Imagine a world where governments, funding agencies, policy makers and research organisations advocate the open access to research data with the aim of improving transparency, credibility and the reuse of research outcomes. This world is our world where a number of high-profile national and international projects (e.g. IMOS1, TERN2, DARIAH3, ELIXIR4, etc.) aim to make research data identifiable and discoverable. However, there are still challenges in enabling seamless integration between these projects.

In this presentation, we describe identity awareness in the context of e-Infrastructure, and we look at the interoperability of identifiers for datasets, researchers and research projects. In addition, we discuss the role of Australian National Data Service (ANDS) in the European Union (EU) funded ORCID and DataCite Interoperability Network (ODIN) project.
